ELSIPOGTOG, NB – It is with heavy hearts that the
family of Lorne John Francis, 61, of Elsipogtog, announce his passing
on Wednesday, June 24, 2026. Born in Big Cove, he was the son of the
late Stephen Leonard Francis and the late Mary Victoria (Paul)
Francis.
Lovingly known as "Fugly," Lorne had a
passion for fishing and camping. He cherished spending time with
family and friends, visiting throughout the community, sharing
stories, and enjoying good conversation. His warmth, humour, and gift
for storytelling brought smiles to those around him, and he will be
lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
Lorne leaves behind his daughters, Naomi Sanipass, Devi
Sanipass and Kayleigh Augustine, all of Elsipogtog; his sons, Moin
Young of Red Bank, Matthew Sanipass of Elsipogtog and Jayden Augustine
of Elsipogtog; his best friend, Roxane Augustine; his sisters, Annie
Francis, Connie Francis, Amanda Julian, Maureen Peters, Stephanie
Francis and Carol Hillman; his brothers, Lester Troy Francis, Glen
Francis, Paul Stephen Francis, Johnny Francis, Illya Francis and
Bronson Francis; his Godchildren, Trenton Francis and Shawnyna
Augustine; his grandchildren, Blaine, Tapit, Renesmee, Cooper, Dexter,
Atoen, Neal, Neala and Delilah; as well as his extended family,
nieces, nephews and friends.
Along with his parents, Lorne was predeceased by his
step-mom, Shirley Francis; his sisters, Audrey, Lorinda and Lacy; his
brothers, Vernon, baby Joseph and Eli; as well as his grandson, Joshua
Jr.
Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 2, 2026,
at 84 Bridge Road in Elsipogtog, and continue until departure for the
service. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at
10:30 AM at St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church in
Elsipogtog.
