RICHIBUCTO, NB – Our family is heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved wife and mother, Linda Richard, at Maison Albert House on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at the age of 70. She was the absolute anchor of our family and a source of endless warmth and laughter.

Born in Rexton, Linda (nee Maillet) was known by all for her love for her family and friends along with her caring and nurturing ways. She had a gentle spirit and always had a way of making people feel better simply by her presence. She was determined, resilient and full of spunk. She found true happiness in life’s simple pleasures, laughter, music, getting lost in a good book, being outdoors, swimming and above all, helping others.

Linda’s legacy of love lives on through her loving father, Zoel Maillet; her devoted husband of 51 years, Donald Richard; her cherished daughters, Brenda Richard (Jane) and Angela Richard (Nicole); her very special grandchildren, Sébastien Richard-Cyr and Brody Trites (Jenna); her dear sisters, Joanne Babineau (Simon), Doreen Daigle (Gérald) and Wanda Maillet (Serge); her half sisters, Charlene Kelly (Gary) and Wendy Robichaud (Paul); her three "adopted" grandchildren, Logan, Sadie and Cecelia; and her many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Linda was predeceased by her godchild, Duane Daigle; her mother, Diana Maillet, and her niece, Tammy Lemaire.

Visitation will be held at Thompson’s Funeral Home in Richibucto, on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and from 7:00 – 9:00 PM, and continue on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, from 12:00 PM until the time of the procession at the St. Louis-de-Gonzague Roman Catholic Church in Richibucto, NB, where the funeral Mass will take place at 2:00 PM. A light lunch will take place in the church basement following the celebration.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that a donation be made to Maison Albert House Hospice Southeast New Brunswick in her memory.

Arrangements are in the professional care of Thompson’s Funeral Home in Richibucto, NB (506-523-4252).
