RICHIBOUCTOU-VILLAGE, NB – It is with heavy hearts that the family of Lillian Maillet, 99, of Richibouctou-Village announce her peaceful passing on Monday, July 20, 2026. Born in Rexton, she was the daughter of the late Adelard and Léonie (Richard) Poirier.

Lillian found happiness in life’s simple moments. She loved being outdoors, whether she was picking berries, tending to her garden, or feeding the birds. She never missed cheering on her beloved Toronto Blue Jays and always enjoyed listening to people’s stories and sitting down for a game of cards. Most of all, Lillian treasured every moment spent with her family. They meant the world to her and were her greatest source of pride and joy. Her love, kindness, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by everyone who knew her.

Lillian leaves to mourn her daughter, Anise Maillet (Léo) of Barachois; her sons, Fernand Maillet (Susan), John Maillet (Dine), Bernard Maillet (Rachel) and Guy Maillet, all of Richibouctou-Village; her sisters, Vie Perry of Moncton, Gloria Caissie (Bobby) of Massachusetts and Rose-Marie Garland of Moncton; her brother, Edmond Perry (Anne) of Moncton; her twelve grandchildren, Rachel, Joey, Troy, Kim, Cathy, Dawn, Chantal, Darcy, Shannon, Shanti, Tara and Eddie; as well as her many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, extended family, nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, Lillian was predeceased by her husband, Urbain Maillet; her sons, Omer, Edward and Claude; as well as her sisters, Délia, Evelyn, Bertha; and her brothers, Norman, Firmain and Auréle.

A funeral Mass will be announced at a later date.
